“Taking the new budget into account, the Defense Department has been granted about $7.2 trillion since 1998, when the post-Cold War decline in defense spending ended.”
That’s $7.2 Trillion that has been siphoned into the DoD's coffers and black hole during the past 12 years. And I don’t think this includes the astounding $2.3 Trillion Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld declared the Pentagon had misplaced (due to some accounting errors?) in a press conference on September 10, 2001. (http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2002/01/29/eveningnews/main325985.shtml)
Heck, a Trillion dollars is a stack of $1000 bill 67.9 miles long, or high, depending on how one visualizes is. So, that’s 9.5 of those stacks for the DoD (ya, 9 long and one short stack of only half a Trillion dollars…lol). That’s 645 miles of thousand dollar bills. That adds up to some real money
Of course, there's this to put Buzsh’s (and now Obama’s) War in some perspective...
